Immanuel Agency, Inc. has nannies, baby Nurses, babysitters, elder caregivers and companions, housekeepers and housemen, domestic couples, chefs, cooks, gardeners and chauffeurs ready and willing to offer you their outstanding services and provide quality in-home care. Our personnel are available on a live-in or live-out basis, working either full-time or part-time as needed.

Below you find our expectations for the general responsibilities of each position. We recognize, however, that every situation is unique and an employer may have job requirements that differ from what we list below. Immanuel Agency, Inc. will be happy to accommodate your specific needs.

Baby Nurse – An infant specialist, who may or may not be an RN or LPN, and who helps couples manage and enjoy the first several weeks at home with their newborn baby.
o   Organize the nursery.
o   Change diapers, bathe, and feed baby.
o   Manage baby’s schedule, putting baby on a routine as appropriate.
o   Identify health and other issues, and implement appropriate techniques to address or recommend medical attention.
o   Assist during nighttime feedings, supporting both breast- and bottle-feeding.
o   Do baby’s laundry, perform light housekeeping and meal preparation.

Nanny – Is fully responsible for childcare, providing a safe, nurturing, caring, and stimulating environment for proper child development.

o   Bathing, feeding, and dressing children.
o   Maintaining children’s bedrooms and play rooms, including computer and gaming equipment.
o   Planning and implementing developmental and play activities, including tutoring homework.
o   Maintaining children’s school and activities schedules, preparing required paperwork, and organizing contact information for each.
o   Taking children to and from activities.
o   Communicating with parents about the children’s social and educational development.
o   Providing specialized services such as meal planning for the children, packing for and accompanying children on trips/vacation.

Babysitter – Provides occasional child care for several hours at a time while the parents are away.

o   Provide safe and competent babysitting services, adhering to parents’ instructions regarding meals, bedtime, allowable activities, and emergency contact requirements.

Elder Caregiver and Companion – Fulfill the special needs and requirements that are unique to senior citizens, providing non-medical care and general companionship.

o   Perform light housekeeping duties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, changing bed linens, cleaning food preparation areas and bathrooms.
o   Assist with errands and shopping, for example groceries, prescriptions, and dry cleaning.
o   Prepare meals and accompany the employer at mealtime, cleaning up after meals.
o   Wash, dry, and fold laundry.
o   Make appointments and arrange transportation to and from appointments, accompanying if necessary.
o   Assist with personal hygiene matters such as bathing, hair and skin care, dental care, disposable pads and garments, etc.
o   Provide general companionship, for example playing cards, watching movies, and making conversation. 
o   Travel with the employer in winter months to a warmer climate, providing the same services. 
o   Optional - Nursing care provided by RNs or LPNs.

Housekeeper - Is responsible for the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the home.
o   Whole house cleaning: dusting surfaces, polishing woods, vacuuming and waxing floors, make beds and straighten bedrooms, disinfecting bathrooms and kitchen, etc.
o   Change linens.
o   Wash laundry, iron, and perform mending/tailoring.
o   Care for rugs, carpeting, drapes, and upholstery.
o   Clean and care for fine china and silver.
o   Maintain cleanliness and orderliness to outdoor play and social areas.
o   Maintain cleaning product inventory.
o   Run errands.

Houseman – A man employed for cleaning, maintenance, and other general work to keep a house running smoothly.
o   Heavy interior and exterior cleaning of the home.
o   Address maintenance issues.
o   Maintain food and beverage inventory.
o   Clean up after parties, banquets, and other large gatherings.
o   Drive employer and guests as needed.
o   Care for automobile maintenance.
o   Run errands.
o   Garden.

Domestic Couple – Provides domestic services to another family or individual in that family’s home.
o   Services can range from overall property management to performing general housekeeping and cooking duties.
o   Indoor/outdoor maintenance and grounds work such as landscaping and yard work.
o   Housecleaning, cooking, and homemaking.
o   In general, domestic couples are married.

Chef – Responsible for the menu, the meals, the kitchen, and the kitchen staff.
o   Plan and prepare menus as per the family’s specifications as well as for parties and social events.
o   Manage and direct the kitchen staff, operations and activities.
o   Oversee preparation, presentation, and serving of food.
o   Places orders to replenish low food and kitchen tool inventory.
o   May prepare meals as well as food for social events and parties in the home.
o   Work closely with other household staff, for example, the nanny, in menu preparation and meal planning for specific family members.
o   Train kitchen staff.
o   Ensure adherence to food safety standards and sanitary requirements.

Cook – Prepares and cooks food to meet daily menu plans.
o   Prepare meals and food for parties, banquets, and other social events.
o   Prepare the food that will be used in main dishes.
o   Keep track of food inventory on hand, properly storing and using it to maintain freshness.
o   Keep work and storage areas clean, orderly and sanitary.
o   Understand health codes.

Gardener - Is responsible for a property’s landscaping and grounds maintenance.
o   Plant flowers, trim shrubs and trees.
o   Cut and water lawns.
o   Apply fertilizer and other plant nourishment as necessary.
o   Place mulch, wood chips, peat moss.
o   Rake and remove dead leaves.

Chauffeur – Provides personal driving services safely and reliably.
o   Operate a limousine, private car, or van for individuals, families, and businesses.
o   Inspect and prepare vehicles before each use, cleaning the interior and exterior.
o   Check the vehicle’s fuel, oil, brakes, lights and other mechanical and fluid components.
o   Manage routine maintenance and perform minor repairs.
o   Provide excellent customer service to clients.
o   Make food, beverages, music, television, and magazines available.
o   Run errands while passengers are at their destination.
